How to Apply 3M Fastbond 1077

1. Preparation

Ensure all bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free of oil, dust, or grease.

2. Actuator Installation

To prevent clogging, actuators are supplied separately under the aerosol cap. Peel off the top foil seal on the can (do not puncture it). Point the spray valve away from your face and gently press and rotate an actuator stem into the top valve until seated.

3. Application Procedure

  • 1-Sided Bonding: Apply a uniform coat over one surface. Allow to dry until tacky (~15 mins) before joining materials together.
  • 2-Sided Bonding: Apply to both mating surfaces for enhanced initial grab and higher bond strength.
  • Apply firm pressure using a hand roller to maximize surface contact and eliminate trapped air.

Pro Tip for Intermittent Use: For brief work stoppages, simply wipe residual adhesive off the nozzle tip. For stoppages longer than 10 minutes, cover the tip with tape and reattach the cap. If the valve dries over extended downtime, swap out the nozzle using the extra actuator included under the cap.
