PROCEDURES
These 2 modern procedures are used to wrap the tapes around the Golf Club Shafts
Wrapping – this is done with the use of 48mm tape - a strip is placed down the length of the shaft once the shaft is placed in a soft vice. The tape is then folded around under the shaft till the 2 edges meet
Spindling – this is done with the use of 24mm tape - in the same way a tennis racquet hand grip is done. The tape is wound around the shaft until reaching the desired length of the grip. This way of wrapping is also a time consuming but with the effects of the Solvent and Double Sided Tape is still a better option than the Traditional way with Glue

WRAPPING
This procedure is a simpler and more user friendly way to grip Golf Clubs The shaft is placed in a soft vice and the 3 types of tape at 48mm width are placed in 3 Different Desk Top Actual Length Dispensers for obtaining easy and consistent lengths of tape The Tape is place down the length of the shaft starting at the top and folded around the shaft till ends meet
  • Step 1 - The first tape used on the shaft is the TESA 52450 Paper Tape - thickness of the grip depends on how many layers you need to use. (One layer = 2 Papers)
  • Step 2 - The next tape used, (as above if required) is the 3M 401 Hi Temp Mask (One layer = 1 paper) This is added to the shaft for any odd paper measurements eg 1,3,5,7 This also helps the manufacturer to know that a coloured mask finish that it is an odd number measurement and the papers are complete
  • Step 3 - Next Step is the Double Sided Tape. This is placed over the masking and paper tape in the same way as the above steps Once completed the solvent is poured into the grip with a finger blocking the grip hole. It is then poured over the H185 Kikusui Tape, the grip placed over the end of the shaft and slid on The operator has a couple of minutes to align the grip, then remove from the vice to be hung on rack grip facing down

SPINDLING
The steps to this procedure are the same as above except for the way in which all the tapes are applied to the shaft. In this procedure the tape is wound continuously around the shaft at a slight angle until reaching the desired length of the grip.
